29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

31 | 31 | | 1 Chapter 465 of the acts of 1956 is hereby amended by adding the following section: – |
---|
32 | 32 | | 2 Section 37. When considering applicants for employment with the Authority, the |
---|
33 | 33 | | 3Authority shall develop rules and regulations for the hiring of employees that include guidelines |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4for preferential consideration of applicants who are veterans as defined under section 1 of |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5chapter 31 of the General Laws. As used in this section, the word “employee” shall have the |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6same meaning as “employee” in section 1 of chapter 32 of the General Laws and shall also |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7include consultants and independent contractors who are natural persons paid by the Authority. |
