An Act establishing a fund for the Western Massachusetts Hospital.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 Chapter 29 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 2JJJJJJ the
2following section:-
3 Section 2KKKKKK. (a) There shall be established and set up on the books of the
4commonwealth a separate fund known as the Western Massachusetts Hospital Fund, to be
5administered by the commissioner of public health. There shall be credited to the fund: (i)
6appropriations or other money authorized or transferred by the general court and specifically
7designated to be credited to the fund; (ii) funds from public and private sources, including, but
8not limited to, gifts, grants and donations; and (iii) any interest earned on the assets of the fund.
9 (b) Amounts credited to the fund may be expended without further appropriation by the
10commissioner of public health for any purpose related to the operation of the Western
11Massachusetts hospital.
