2626 An Act regularizing water rates for tenants.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 22 of chapter 186 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting in subsection (g) after the words “water
3131 3consumption for the entire premises” the following:
3232 4 “, Multiplied by each individual submeter’s applicable municipal rate determined by each
3333 5submetered unit’s total individual usage.”
3434 6 SECTION 2. Said section 22 of chapter 186, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
3535 7by inserting in subsection (g) after the words “shown on such bill or invoice” the following:
3636 8 “The landlord shall be responsible for all additional water costs resulting from increased
3737 9municipal rates due to the total water usage of the entire premises.”
