The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to science curriculum standards. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 1D of Chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 31, after the word "States" the 3following:- 4 The standards for the subject of science shall include only peer-reviewed and age- 5appropriate subject matter; provided, (1) peer-reviewed subject matter shall be defined as 6conducted in compliance with accepted scientific methods; and (2) age-appropriate shall be 7defined as topics, messages, and teaching methods suitable to particular ages or age groups of 8children and adolescents, based on developing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral capacity 9typical for the age or age group.
