| 27 | 27 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 28 | 28 | | 1 Section 1. Section 1D of Chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 31, after the word "States" the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 3following:- |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 4 The standards for the subject of science shall include only peer-reviewed and age- |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 5appropriate subject matter; provided, (1) peer-reviewed subject matter shall be defined as |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 6conducted in compliance with accepted scientific methods; and (2) age-appropriate shall be |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7defined as topics, messages, and teaching methods suitable to particular ages or age groups of |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 8children and adolescents, based on developing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral capacity |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 9typical for the age or age group. |
