3131 Proposal for a legislative amendment to the Constitution for a Constitutional right to health care.
3232 A majority of all the members elected to the Senate and House of Representatives, in
3333 joint session, hereby declares it to be expedient to alter the Constitution by the adoption of the
3434 following Article of Amendment, to the end that it may become a part of the Constitution [if
3535 similarly agreed to in a joint session of the next General Court and approved by the people at the
3636 state election next following]:
3737 ARTICLE OF AMENDMENT.
3838 1 ARTICLE OF AMENDMENT.
3939 2 1.) The Constitution of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is hereby, and thus
4040 3amended, to provide that:
4141 4 Each, and every inhabitant of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, has a Right to
4242 5Health Care. 2 of 2
4343 6 2.) The provision of this Right, with equality for all individuals, shall be subject to
4444 7appropriate legislation by the Great and General Court.
4545 8 The roles, and decision-making of all personal physicians, hospital physicians, and all
4646 9other medical personnel, who are appropriately involved in the care of any individual, shall be
4747 10respected, according to all appropriate medical standards, laws, and regulations.
