2828 An Act concerning disposable menstrual products in schools.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 Section 1. Chapter 71 of the Massachusetts General Laws is hereby amended by adding
3232 2at the end thereof the following section 68A:--
3333 3 Section 2. For purposes of this section, “disposable menstrual products” means products
3434 4including, but not limited to, tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the
3535 5menstrual cycle.
3636 6 Section 3. All elementary and secondary public schools in the Commonwealth serving
3737 7students in any grade from grade six through grade twelve shall provide disposable menstrual
3838 8products in the restrooms of such school building or buildings. Such products shall be provided
3939 9at no charge to students. Such amount may be adjusted from time to time based on utilization. 2 of 2
4040 10School districts shall work to ensure that such products shall be available in a convenient manner
4141 11that does not stigmatize any student seeking such product.
4242 12 Section 4. This act shall take effect on August 1, 2026.
