2727 An Act relative to water flow in the Central Plymouth County Water District.
2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2929 of the same, as follows:
3030 1 SECTION 1. Section 8 of chapter 371 of the acts of 1964 is hereby amended by adding
3131 2the following words:-, or in the opinion of the department of agricultural resources or the water
3232 3resources commission, the diversion of such waters would endanger the environmental health of
3333 4the associated ponds and rivers.
3434 5 SECTION 2. Section 9 of said chapter of said acts is hereby amended by adding the
3535 6following paragraph:-
3636 7 Furthermore, Silver Lake, Monponsett Pond and Furnace Pond shall be managed at all
3737 8times, unless prevented by drought, such that there is continuous flow provided to all the out-
3838 9flowing rivers, including Jones River, Stump Brook and Herring Brook, to support and sustain
3939 10their water quality as well as maintain the health and function of the ecosystem.
