| 29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 1 Section 30 of Chapter 23B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 2Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (G) the following subsection:- |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 3 (H) The executive office of housing and livable communities shall implement a policy to |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 4identify any families or individuals in the emergency housing assistance program, including |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 5those residing in overflow shelters, that have a financial sponsor under federal immigration law. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 6 For any families or individuals identified as has having a financial sponsor, the executive |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 7office shall, in consultation with the office of the attorney general, seek reimbursement of any |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 8funds that should have been covered by the financial sponsor through legal action against the |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 9financial sponsor. |
