2828 An Act updating the juvenile justice policy and data board.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of Section 89 of Chapter 119 of the General Laws, as
3232 2appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the following words:-
3333 3“The board shall consist of 21 members,” and replacing it thereof with the following:- “The
3434 4board shall consist of 23 members,”
3535 5 SECTION 2. Said subsection (b) of said Section 89 of said Chapter 119 is further
3636 6amended by inserting after the words "Massachusetts juvenile justice advisory committee or a
3737 7designee” the following:- "; 1 of whom shall be the executive director of the Commission on
3838 8Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Youth or a designee". 2 of 2
3939 9 SECTION 3. Said subsection (b) of said Section 89 of said Chapter 119 is further
4040 10amended by striking out the following words:- “2 of whom shall be parents whose children have
4141 11been subject to juvenile court jurisdiction and” and replacing it thereof with the following:-
4242 12 “3 of whom shall be individuals with past juvenile justice involvement from a list
4343 13provided by The Transformation Center DBA Kiva Centers and a list provided by the
4444 14Parent/Professional Advocacy League, Inc, at least 1 of whom is a parent whose child has been
4545 15subject to juvenile court jurisdiction and 1 of whom is an adult who was subject to juvenile court
4646 16jurisdiction as a child, and”
