[SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION SEE SENATE, NO. 1270 OF 2023-2024.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to protective custody. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 9A of Chapter 111E as appearing in the 2022 edition is hereby 2amended by inserting in the first sentence of the second paragraph after "immediately obtaining 3appropriate emergency medical treatment" the following:- "provided such custody shall continue 4in force and effect for the duration of necessary transport, screening, and evaluation for 5treatment". 6 SECTION 2. Section 9A of Chapter 111E as appearing in the 2022 edition is hereby 7amended by inserting at the end of the third paragraph after the word "treatment" the following:- 8"and evaluation".
