28 | 28 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 40 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after |

31 | 31 | | 2section 69 the following section:- |
---|
32 | 32 | | 3 Section 70. No city or town shall enact an ordinance or by-law, or establish any policy, |
---|
33 | 33 | | 4that prohibits the wearing of face coverings for protective or medical use in any indoor or |
---|
34 | 34 | | 5outdoor space open to the public including, but not limited to: |
---|
35 | 35 | | 6 Any publicly-owned facility; |
---|
36 | 36 | | 7 Grocery stores, pharmacies, and other retail stores; |
---|
37 | 37 | | 8 Public streets, parks, and ways; and |
---|
38 | 38 | | 9 Any location, including hotels, event venues, and private clubs, that hosts indoor or |
---|
39 | 39 | | 10outdoor events or performances. 2 of 2 |

40 | 40 | | 11 SECTION 2. Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after |

42 | 42 | | 13 Section 31F. No board of health shall adopt a regulation that prohibits the wearing of face |

43 | 43 | | 14coverings for protective or medical use in any indoor or outdoor space open to the public |
