legislation to provide state grants for municipal sustainability directors.  Municipalities and 
Regional Government.

An Act providing state grants for municipal sustainability directors.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Chapter 29 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after inserting after 
2section 2DDDDDD the following section:-
3 Section 2EEEEEE: There shall be established and set up on the books of the 
4commonwealth a separate fund known as the Municipal Sustainability Director Fund. The fund 
5shall be credited with appropriations or other money authorized or transferred by the general 
6court and specifically designated to be credited to the fund. Amounts credited to the fund shall be 
7expended to support cities and towns to fund an environmental sustainability director position. 
8Money remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the General Fund. The 
9fund shall not be subject to section 5C of chapter 29.
