| 26 | 26 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 28 | 28 | | 1 Section 25B of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 2Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the definition of “New technology”, and inserting in |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 3place thereof the following definition:- |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 4 ''New technology'', equipment such as magnetic resonance imagers and linear |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 5accelerators, as may be defined by the department, or a service, as may be defined by the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 6department, which for reasons of quality, access or cost is determined to be new technology by |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7the department; provided, however, that computerized tomography and any equipment that is |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 8widely utilized as standard diagnostic, treatment or therapeutic technology shall not be |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 9considered new technology. |
