2626 An Act to maximize participation in federal nutrition programs and improve customer service.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 Section 16 of chapter 6A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition,
3030 2is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
3131 3 "Notwithstanding any general or special law to the country, within three months of
3232 4enactment, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services shall submit a report to the house
3333 5and senate committees on ways and the committee on children, families, and persons with
3434 6disabilities specifying the resources the department of transitional assistance requires to assure
3535 7timely participation by eligible households in federal nutrition assistance benefits administered
3636 8by the department, provided that the report shall set forth (a) the department’s short- and long-
3737 9term goals for improving benefits access and providing timely customer service to eligible
3838 10households; and (b) the financial and other resources the department needs to reach those goals."
