| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 1 Section 16 of chapter 6A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:- |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3 "Notwithstanding any general or special law to the country, within three months of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4enactment, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services shall submit a report to the house |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5and senate committees on ways and the committee on children, families, and persons with |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6disabilities specifying the resources the department of transitional assistance requires to assure |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7timely participation by eligible households in federal nutrition assistance benefits administered |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8by the department, provided that the report shall set forth (a) the department’s short- and long- |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9term goals for improving benefits access and providing timely customer service to eligible |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 10households; and (b) the financial and other resources the department needs to reach those goals." |
