2828 An Act relative to drug recognition experts.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary the secretary of the executive
3232 2office of public safety and security shall develop a statewide standardization and accreditation
3333 3certification for municipal and state police officers to become drug recognition experts for the
3434 4purpose of providing testimony in court proceedings. The secretary shall submit by December
3535 531, 2025 any legislative recommendations to the clerks of the house and senate, and the joint
3636 6committee on public safety and homeland security.
