2929 An Act relative to employees of the Commonwealth who are required to respond to emergencies
3030 or work in hazardous environments.
3131 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3232 of the same, as follows:
3333 1 Chapter 32, Section 3(2)(g) is hereby amended by adding the following at the beginning
3434 2of Group 2. Employees of the Commonwealth who are required to respond to emergencies or
3535 3work in hazardous environments; employees of the Commonwealth who are required to respond
3636 4and inspect hazardous material spills or who are required to inspect such areas or whose duties
3737 5require one to be present where such hazardous materials, including asbestos and radioactive
3838 6materials, are stored, used, emitted, and or manufactured or where contamination from such has
3939 7occurred; employees of the Commonwealth who work in laboratories handling biological or
4040 8other dangerous materials associated with blood-born, viral or other possible communicable
4141 9and/or dangerous substances; employees of the Commonwealth whose duties include the use of
4242 10scuba diving equipment or work as aerial foresters or crewmen. State Employees who engage in 2 of 2
4343 11homeland security duties, MEMA and emergency response actions associated with public safety,
4444 12environmental protection and public health.
