2727 An Act correcting pension inequity for James G. Clothier.
2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2929 of the same, as follows:
3030 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law or rule or
3131 2regulation to the contrary, the teachers' retirement board is hereby authorized and directed to
3232 3permit James G. Clothier to purchase ten years' of creditable service in the teachers' retirement
3333 4system for the sum of eighteen thousand five hundred two and 14/100 dollars ($18,502.14), for
3434 5his service as a teacher in the public schools of New York State. Without limiting the generality
3535 6of the foregoing, this purchase shall be permitted notwithstanding the receipt by Mr. Clothier of
3636 7any pension, retirement allowance, or similar benefit from any New York State teacher
3737 8retirement system or program.
3838 9 SECTION 2. Upon purchase of the creditable service as provided herein, said service
3939 10shall be deemed for all purposes to have been purchased on January 26, 1998 and shall be 2 of 2
4040 11included in the calculation of Mr. Clothier's superannuation retirement allowance from the
4141 12teachers' retirement system retroactively to the effective date of his retirement on June 30, 2002.
4242 13 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
