An Act regarding retirement of public authority law enforcement employee groups.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Paragraph (g) of subdivision (2) of section 3 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, is hereby 
2amended by inserting after line 326 the following new paragraph:-
3 Any public authority with law enforcement employees who are members of a retirement 
4system independent of the Massachusetts State Retirement System and the Massachusetts 
5Teachers Retirement System may elect to improve the retirement group classification for any 
6group of law enforcement employees by a majority vote of the authority governing board. 
7Nothing in this act shall be construed as authorization to diminish the retirement benefits of 
8public employees by placing any group of employees in a lower group of classification.
