2727 An Act relative to effective dates of property taxes.
2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2929 of the same, as follows:
3030 1 SECTION 1. Section 5 of Chapter 59 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3131 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following clause:
3232 3 Twenty-Third, the exemptions available pursuant to clauses Twenty-second, Twenty-
3333 4second A, Twenty-second B, Twenty-second C, Twenty-second D, Twenty-second E and
3434 5Twenty-second F shall be granted from the effective date of their claim from the Veterans
3535 6Administration.
3636 7 SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, the Division of
3737 8Local Services shall promulgate rules and regulations, as it pertains to overpayment of property
3838 9taxes paid by exemption recipients after a Veterans Affairs disability letter is awarded.
