The undersigned legislators and/or citizens respectfully petition for the adoption of the accompanying 
resolve:
Resolve creating a special commission on additional regular compensation for certain members 
and annual expenses for members of general court.

By Mr. Keenan, a petition (accompanied by resolve, Senate, No. 2100) of John F. Keenan and 
Rebecca L. Rausch that provisions be made for an investigation and study by a special 
commission on additional regular compensation for certain members and annual expenses for 
members of general court. Rules of the two branches, acting concurrently.

Resolve creating a special commission on additional regular compensation for certain members 
and annual expenses for members of general court.
1 Resolved, that there shall be a special commission established to review the amounts for 
2certain members pursuant to section 9B of chapter 3 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 
32022 Official Edition, and the annual expenses for members of general court pursuant to section 
49C of said chapter 3, as so appearing. The commission shall report its findings, including any 
5proposed legislation, to the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint 
6committee on public service no later than December 31, 2026.
7 The 9 members of the commission shall consist of 1 who shall be appointed by the 
8speaker of the house, 1 who shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house, 1 who shall 
9be appointed by the president of the senate, 1 who shall be appointed by the minority leader of 
10the senate, 1 who shall be a representative of the Center for State Policy Analysis, 1 who shall be 
11a representative of the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts, 1 who shall be a 
12representative of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, 1 who shall be a representative of 
13MASSPIRG and 1 who shall be a representative of the Pioneer Institute.
