3030 An Act designating January 30 of each year as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the

3232 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3333 of the same, as follows:
3434 1 Chapter 6 of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting after section
3535 215MMMMMM, the following section:-
3636 3 Section 15NNNNNN. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart
3737 4January 30 of each year as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution, in
3838 5recognition of the birthday of Fred Korematsu and to educate about and honor the life of Fred
3939 6Korematsu, his perseverance, and his determination to advocate for the civil liberties of all
4040 7Americans, and recommending that the day be an opportunity for civic participation and
4141 8observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
