27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 |
---|
30 | 30 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following definition:- |
---|
31 | 31 | | 3 “Venue”, any entertainment facility, property, building, structure, or place that is |
---|
32 | 32 | | 4primarily designed and used for live sporting competitions or contests, shows, performances or |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5other entertainment in which the occupancy exceeds over 4,900. |

34 | 34 | | 6 SECTION 2. Section 12 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 |

35 | 35 | | 7Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section in line XX after the words “ |

36 | 36 | | 8and approve in writing”:- |

37 | 37 | | 9 However, no alcoholic beverage shall be sold at any sporting venue, stadium, arena or |

38 | 38 | | 10other venue as defined in this chapter unless such sale is directly conducted and directly |

39 | 39 | | 11supervised by an employee of a holder of the appropriate License issued by the Alcoholic |
---|
40 | 40 | | 12Beverage Control Commission. Furthermore, no patron of any venue shall gain access to any 2 of 2 |

41 | 41 | | 13alcoholic beverage until such sale has been finalized and the beverage has been served to the |
---|
42 | 42 | | 14patron by such an employee.” |
