2626 An Act to eliminate "grab-and-go" counters at large events.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following definition:-
3131 3 “Venue”, any entertainment facility, property, building, structure, or place that is
3232 4primarily designed and used for live sporting competitions or contests, shows, performances or
3333 5other entertainment in which the occupancy exceeds over 4,900.
3434 6 SECTION 2. Section 12 of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
3535 7Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section in line XX after the words “
3636 8and approve in writing”:-
3737 9 However, no alcoholic beverage shall be sold at any sporting venue, stadium, arena or
3838 10other venue as defined in this chapter unless such sale is directly conducted and directly
3939 11supervised by an employee of a holder of the appropriate License issued by the Alcoholic
4040 12Beverage Control Commission. Furthermore, no patron of any venue shall gain access to any 2 of 2
4141 13alcoholic beverage until such sale has been finalized and the beverage has been served to the
4242 14patron by such an employee.”
