2929 An Act relative to municipal light plant emergency mutual aid.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 Section 133 of Chapter 164 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition
3333 2is hereby amended by adding in the third paragraph, in line 12, after the word “plant”, the
3434 3following sentence:-
3535 4 “Any municipal lighting plant providing emergency mutual aid may sell, rent, or lease
3636 5equipment, fixtures, and goods of any description related to the provision of emergency mutual
3737 6aid”
3838 7 And said section is further amended by adding after the fifth paragraph the following
3939 8sentence:- 2 of 2
4040 9 “Any employee of a municipal lighting plant providing emergency mutual aid, shall be
4141 10covered by the provisions of chapter thirty-two, sections one to twenty-eight, inclusive, as may
4242 11be amended from time to time, and shall have the same rights and privileges thereunder, as if
4343 12performing such duties within the scope of his employment including voluntary assignments
4444 13authorized by the employer.”
4545 14 And said section is further amended by adding in the sixth paragraph, in line 27, after the
4646 15word “utility”, the following words:- “or its employees”.
