By Mr. Rush, a petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 2496) of Michael F. Rush for 
legislation that the flag of the commonwealth shall be flown at half-staff honoring the passing of 
active duty military personnel from the commonwealth. Veterans and Federal Affairs.

An Act to recognize service to our Commonwealth and Nation.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 6A of Chapter 2 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after (g), 
2the following:-
3 "(h) On the death of an actively serving service member from the U.S. Army, U.S. Air 
4Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corp, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Coast Guard, the Reserve 
5Component, or the National Guard from the Commonwealth."
