An Act allowing businesses to sign up for the "Do Not Call" list.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1: Section 1 of chapter 159C is hereby amended by striking out the definition 
2for “consumer” and inserting in place thereof the following definition:
3 “Consumer”, an individual who is a resident of the commonwealth or an association, 
4corporation, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company or other entity operating 
5in the commonwealth, that subscribes to residential or business telephone services in the 
6commonwealth and is a prospective recipient of goods or services.
7 SECTION 2: Section 1 of chapter 159C, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is 
8hereby amended by striking out, in line 14, the word “residential”.  2 of 2
9 SECTION 3: Section 5 of chapter 159C, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is 
10hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the word "residential".
11 SECTION 4: Section 8 of Chapter 159C, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is 
12hereby amended by striking out, in line 10, the word "person" and inserting in place thereof the 
13following word:- “consumer”.
14 SECTION 5: Section 10 of Chapter 159C, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is 
15hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the word "person" and inserting in place thereof the 
16word:- "consumer".
