2929 Resolve establishing a commission to examine expanding vocational and technical high school
3030 access.
3131 1 Resolved, that a special commission is hereby established for the purpose to study and
3232 2make recommendations regarding expanding access to vocational and technical high school
3333 3education through increasing the capacity of regional vocational and technical schools.
3434 4 The commission shall consist of the commissioner of the department of secondary and
3535 5elementary education or his designee, who shall serve as commission chair; 4 members of the
3636 6senate, 1 of whom shall be the senate chair of the joint committee on education, 1 of whom shall
3737 7be appointed by the senate president, 1 of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the
3838 8senate, and 1 of whom shall be appointed by the senate chairman of ways and means; 4 members
3939 9of the house of representatives, 1 of whom shall be the house chair of the joint committee on
4040 10education, 1 of whom shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives and 1 of
4141 11whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house of representative sand 1 of whom
4242 12shall be appointed by the house chairman of ways and means; and 6 persons appointed by the
4343 13governor who shall be superintendents or business managers who represent vocational or 2 of 2
4444 14technical schools. The commission shall convene its first meeting not later than June 1, 2025,
4545 15and shall file a report along with any recommendations for legislation not later than November
4646 1630, 2025, with the clerks of the senate and house, the chairs of the senate and house committees
4747 17on ways and means, and the chairs of the joint committee on education.
