[SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION SEE SENATE, NO. 373 OF 2023-2024.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act further regulating the Assisted Living Advisory Council. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 17 of chapter 19D of the general laws is hereby amended by 2inserting in line nine, after the phrase “secretary of health and human services or his designee,” 3the following: “the speaker of the house or his designee, the senate president or her designee.” 4 SECTION 2. Section 17 of chapter 19D of the general laws is hereby amended by 5striking in line ten the word: - “three,” and inserting in place thereof, the word: “five.” 6 SECTION 3. Section 17 of chapter 19D of the general laws is hereby amended by 7inserting in line eleven, after the words “consumer interests,” the following: one of whom shall 8be a representative of the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association, Inc. and one of whom shall 9be a representative of Leading Age,” 2 of 2 10 SECTION 4. Section 17 of chapter 19D of the general laws is hereby amended by 11striking in lines fourteen and fifteen: - “of one year each,” and inserting in place thereof, the 12words: “- coterminous with the governor. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the 13original appointment for the remainder of any unexpired term."
