2626 An Act relative to councils on aging.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 8B of chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in lines 2 and 3, after the words “carrying out
3131 3programs” the following words:- and deliver services.
3232 4 SECTION 2. Said section 8B of chapter 40, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
3333 5by striking out, in line 3, the words “problems of the aging” and inserting in place thereof the
3434 6following words:- needs of older adults.
3535 7 SECTION 3. Said section 8B of chapter 40, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
3636 8by striking out, in line 9, the words “such clerks” and inserting in place thereof the following
3737 9word:- staff.
3838 10 SECTION 4. Said section 8B of chapter 40, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
3939 11by inserting, in lines 9 and 10, after the words “as it may require” the following words:- ; 2 of 2
4040 12provided, that if the council is an advisory council, the director may appoint staff and other
4141 13employees as it may require consistent with municipal needs.
