| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 29 | 29 | | 1 Chapter 175 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:- |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2 Section 231. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3 (a) As used in this section, the following words shall have the following meanings unless |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4the context clearly requires otherwise: |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5 “Drone”, any remotely piloted aircraft or hovercraft. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6 “Policyholder”, any individual who is (i) insured by a company, or (ii) attempting to |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7purchase insurance from a company. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8 (b) The division of insurance shall issue recommendations for regulating the use of |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9drones by companies for the purpose of determining eligibility of any policyholder, or |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 10determining the price of insurance premiums for any policyholder. 2 of 2 |

| 39 | 39 | | 11 The recommendations shall address areas including but not limited to: (a) requirements |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 12for companies to notify policyholders about the use of drones for determining eligibility or |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 13premium price; (b) requirements for companies to obtain consent of policyholders to use of |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | 14drones for determining eligibility or premium price; and (c) penalties for companies that illegally |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | 15or improperly use drones. |
