2727 An Act to support college students in recovery.
2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2929 of the same, as follows:
3030 1 Chapter 15A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby
3131 2amended by inserting after section 45 the following section:-
3232 3 Section 46. (a) Each public institution of higher education that provides housing for
3333 4students shall establish a college campus recovery-focused housing program to provide an
3434 5alcohol and drug-free environment for students recovering from substance use disorder. This
3535 6program shall provide services including, but not limited to, trauma informed on-site counseling,
3636 7mentoring, and peer support.
3737 8 (b) Each public institution of higher education shall provide overdose training to all
3838 9students, faculty, and staff and shall make naloxone available for the purpose of treating
3939 10overdoses, as appropriate.
