116116 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III, § 35 12
117117 of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary 13
118118 or compensation of the Comptroller, Treasurer, Attorney General, or Secretary of State 14
119119 while serving in a term of office beginning before the effective date of this Act, but the 15
120120 provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation of the Comptroller, Treasurer, 16
121121 Attorney General, or Secretary of State shall take effect at the beginning of the next 17
122122 following term of office. This limitation does not apply to an individual appointed or elected 18
123123 after the effective date of this Act to fill out an unexpired term. 19

125125 SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 20
