107107 (3) The EMS Board shall provide for the term and renewal of licenses or 9

110110 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That: 11

112112 (a) (1) Beginning on the effective date of this Act, each State employee 12
113113 classified as a park services associate in the Park Service within the Department of Natural 13
114114 Resources who submits proof to the State Emergency Medical Services Board of completing 14
115115 training or education that is equivalent to the training or education required for 15
116116 certification as an emergency medical responder shall be deemed to have a temporary 16
117117 certification as an emergency medical responder. 17

119119 (2) The Department may not charge a fee or require the passage of an 18
120120 examination for the temporary certification of a park services associate who meets the 19
121121 requirements under paragraph (1) of this subsection. 20

123123 (3) Temporary certification under paragraph (1) of this subsection expires 21
124124 on December 31, 2024. 22

126126 (4) To receive certification as an emergency medical responder after 23
127127 temporary certification expires under paragraph (3) of this subsection, an individual shall 24
128128 apply for certification under § 13–516 of the Education Article. 25

130130 (b) (1) On or before July 1, 2023, the State Emergency Medical Services Board 26
131131 shall complete a review of the training records for all park services associates in the Park 27
132132 Service to identify those individuals whose training meets the training requirements for 28
133133 certification as an emergency medical responder under § 13–516 of the Education Article. 29

135135 (2) On or before July 1, 2024, the EMS Board shall offer at least twice to 30
136136 each individual identified under paragraph (1) of this subsection: 31

138138 (i) the examination for certification as an emergency medical 32
139139 responder administered by the EMS Board; and 33

141141 (ii) information regarding any other requirements the individual is 34

146146 SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an emergency 1
147147 measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health or safety, has 2
148148 been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three–fifths of all the members elected to 3
149149 each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from the date it is 4
150150 enacted. 5
