112 | 112 | | (a) (1) Beginning on the effective date of this Act, each State employee 12 |

113 | 113 | | classified as a park services associate in the Park Service within the Department of Natural 13 |
---|
114 | 114 | | Resources who submits proof to the State Emergency Medical Services Board of completing 14 |
---|
115 | 115 | | training or education that is equivalent to the training or education required for 15 |
---|
116 | 116 | | certification as an emergency medical responder shall be deemed to have a temporary 16 |
---|
117 | 117 | | certification as an emergency medical responder. 17 |
---|

---|
119 | 119 | | (2) The Department may not charge a fee or require the passage of an 18 |
---|
120 | 120 | | examination for the temporary certification of a park services associate who meets the 19 |
---|
121 | 121 | | requirements under paragraph (1) of this subsection. 20 |

123 | 123 | | (3) Temporary certification under paragraph (1) of this subsection expires 21 |
---|
124 | 124 | | on December 31, 2024. 22 |

127 | 127 | | temporary certification expires under paragraph (3) of this subsection, an individual shall 24 |

130 | 130 | | (b) (1) On or before July 1, 2023, the State Emergency Medical Services Board 26 |
---|
131 | 131 | | shall complete a review of the training records for all park services associates in the Park 27 |
---|
132 | 132 | | Service to identify those individuals whose training meets the training requirements for 28 |
---|
133 | 133 | | certification as an emergency medical responder under § 13–516 of the Education Article. 29 |

135 | 135 | | (2) On or before July 1, 2024, the EMS Board shall offer at least twice to 30 |
---|
136 | 136 | | each individual identified under paragraph (1) of this subsection: 31 |

138 | 138 | | (i) the examination for certification as an emergency medical 32 |
---|
139 | 139 | | responder administered by the EMS Board; and 33 |
