AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Maryland Center for School Safety – Public Schools – Reporting of Classroom 2 
Disruptions 3 
 
FOR the purpose of requiring the Maryland Center for School Safety, a certain county 4 
superintendent, and a certain county board of education to take certain actions 5 
relating to the reporting of classroom disruptions in public schools; and generally 6 
relating to reporting of classroom disruptions in public schools. 7

 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 13 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 14 
 
Article – Education 15 
 
7–1513. 16 
 
 (A) THE CENTER SHALL ESTABLIS H: 17 
 
 (1) A WEBSITE THRO UGH WHICH AN INDIVID UAL MAY ANONYMOUSLY 18 
REPORT CLASSROOM DISRUPTIONS AT A PUB LIC SCHOOL; AND 19 
 
 (2) AN OFFICE THAT REVIEW S REPORTS RECEIVED U NDER ITEM (1) 20 
OF THIS SUBSECTION A ND REFERS THE REPORT TO THE APPROPRIATE C OUNTY 21 
SUPERINTENDENT AND C OUNTY BOARD . 22

 (B) WITHIN 45 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING A REPORT UNDER SUBSE CTION (A) 1 
OF THIS SECTION , THE COUNTY SUPERINTE NDENT AND COUNTY BOA RD JOINTLY 2 
SHALL PROVIDE A RESP ONSE TO THE REPORT T O THE OFFICE ESTABLI SHED BY THE 3 
CENTER UNDER SUBSECTI ON (A) OF THIS SECTION. 4 
 
 (C) ON OR BEFORE JUNE 1 EACH YEAR , THE CENTER SHALL MAKE 5 
AVAILABLE ON ITS WEB SITE GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE NUMBER AND TYPE 6 
OF REPORTS RECEIVED AND RESPONSES PROVIDED IN ACCORDAN CE WITH THIS 7 
SECTION. 8 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 9 
1, 2022. 10
