124124 (e) The Board [may] SHALL waive any education requirement of subsection (d) 17
125125 of this section for an individual who was licensed, REMAINS IN GOOD STAN DING, and 18
126126 practiced as a nursing home administrator for at least 3 years in another state. 19

128128 (f) (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (d)(1)(i)1 or 2A of this 20
129129 section, the Board may not require an applicant to have a baccalaureate degree if the 21

132132 (i) Is a registered nurse who: 23

134134 1. Has an associate in arts degree in nursing; or 24

136136 2. Is a diplomate nurse; 25

138138 (ii) Has been working as a nursing home director of nursing for a 26
139139 period of at least 5 years, with at least 3 years experience at the same facility, prior to the 27
140140 date the applicant submits an application to the Board for a license; 28

142142 (iii) Has completed at least 6 months of full–time nursing home 29
143143 administration in a training program approved by the Board; and 30

147147 (iv) Has satisfactorily completed a minimum of 100 hours in a course 1
148148 of study in health care administration, or equivalent, approved by the Board. 2

150150 (2) Whenever federal law requires that an applicant for a license to practice 3
151151 as a nursing home administrator must have a baccalaureate degree in health care 4
152152 administration or in a field other than health care administration the provisions of this 5
153153 section shall cease to be effective. 6

155155 (g) Except as otherwise provided in this title, the applicant shall pass an 7
156156 examination given by the Board under this subtitle. 8

158158 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect 9
