7878 (a) Subject to the provisions of this section, Section 1 of this Act shall take effect 19
7979 contingent on the expiration of the expanded student eligibility for benefits under the 20
8080 federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, as modified by the Consolidated 21
8181 Appropriations Act, 2021. 22

8383 (b) If the expanded student eligibility expires due to the end of the COVID–19 23
8484 public health emergency and no substantially similar federal legislation is enacted in its 24
8585 place, Section 1 of this Act shall take effect within 30 days after the expiration. 25

8787 (c) The Department of Human Services shall notify the Department of Legislative 26
8888 Services within 5 days after the expiration of expanded student eligibility benefits. 27

9090 SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the provisions of 28
9191 Section 2 of this Act, this Act shall take effect June 1, 2022. 29
