AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Correctional Services – Home Detention – Removal 2 
 
FOR the purpose of requiring the Commissioner of Correction or the Commissioner’s 3 
designee to remove an incarcerated individual from home detention under certain 4 
circumstances; and generally relating to home detention. 5 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, 6 
 Article – Correctional Services 7

 (As enacted by Chapter 721 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2023) 11 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 12 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 13

 (A) The Commissioner or the Commissioner’s designee may remove an 16 
incarcerated individual from the program at any time and for any reason. 17 
 
 (B) THE COMMISSIONER OR THE COMMISSIONER ’S DESIGNEE SHALL 18 
REMOVE AN INCARCERAT ED INDIVIDUAL FROM T HE PROGRAM FOR VIOLA TING A 19 
CONDITION OF THE INC ARCERATED INDIVIDUAL ’S PLACEMENT IN THE P ROGRAM. 20

October 1, 2024. 2
