5757 (b–1) (1) The school facilities surcharge under this section shall be reduced by 5
5858 50% for multi–family housing projects, with a building permit issued on or after April 1, 6

6767 dwelling unit that is a studio apartment or an efficiency apartment if the dwelling unit is 12

7171 Policy areas), as defined in the approved Prince George’s County General Plan (Plan 2035), 15

8787 SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Prince George’s County shall: 26

8989 (1) review and make recommendations on the impact of the school facilities 27
9090 surcharge and the public safety surcharge and the need for any changes to the surcharges, 28
9191 including whether changes to the school facilities surcharge and the public safety surcharge 29
9292 might have a positive impact on the ability to construct and maintain affordable housing; 30

9595 (2) on or before December 1, 2022, report its findings to the Prince George’s 32
9696 County Council, the Prince George’s County School Board, and, in accordance with § 33 SENATE BILL 1123 3

102102 SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 3
103103 1, 2019. Sections 2 and 3 of this Act shall remain effective for a period of [5] 8 years and, 4
104104 at the end of June 30, [2024] 2027, Sections 2 and 3 of this Act, with no further action 5
105105 required by the General Assembly, shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect. 6

107107 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 7
108108 1, 2024. 8
