A BILL ENTITLED 
 
AN ACT concerning 1 
 
Allegany County – Alcoholic Beverages – Class BWLT Beer, Wine, and Liquor 2 
Tasting Permit 3 
 
FOR the purpose of establishing a Class BWLT beer, wine, and liquor tasting permit to be 4 
issued by the Board of License Commissioners for Allegany County; and generally 5 
relating to alcoholic beverages in Allegany County.  6 
 
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments, 7 
 Article – Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis 8 
Section 9–102 9 
 Annotated Code of Maryland 10 
 (2016 Volume and 2023 Supplement) 11 
 
BY adding to 12 
 Article – Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis 13 
Section 9–1305 14

 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 17 
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 18

 This title applies only in Allegany County. 21

 (A) THERE IS A CLASS BWLT BEER, WINE, AND LIQUOR TASTING P ERMIT.  1 
 
 (B) THE BOARD MAY ISSUE THE P ERMIT TO A HOLDER OF A BEER, WINE, 2 
AND LIQUOR LICENSE .  3 
 
 (C) THE PERMIT AUTHORIZES THE HOLDER TO ALLOW THE ON–PREMISES 4 
CONSUMPTION , FOR TASTING, OF BEER, WINE, AND LIQUOR.  5 
 
 (D) THE PERMIT HOLDER SHA LL NOTIFY THE BOARD AT LEAST 7 DAYS 6 
BEFORE A TASTING EVE NT IS TO BE HELD.  7 
 
 (E) (1) THE ANNUAL FEE FOR A CLASS BWLT BEER, WINE, AND LIQUOR 8 
TASTING PERMIT IS $150. 9 
 
 (2) THE ANNUAL FEE IS IN ADDITION TO: 10 
 
 (I) A ONE–TIME ISSUING FEE OF $150 FOR A NEW CLASS BWLT 11 
BEER, WINE, AND LIQUOR TASTING P ERMIT; AND  12 
 
 (II) THE ANNUAL FEE FOR T HE UNDERLYING BEER , WINE, AND 13 
LIQUOR LICENSE .  14 
 
 (F) THE BOARD SHALL ADOPT REG ULATIONS TO CARRY OU T THIS SECTION.  15 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 16 
1, 2024. 17
