AN ACT concerning 1
College of Southern Maryland – Funding and Responsibilities – La Plata Pool 2
FOR the purpose of requiring the Board of Trustees of the College of Southern Maryland 3
to include funding in the annual budget of the College to reopen a certain pool by a 4
certain date at the College’s La Plata Campus; and generally relating to the College 5
of Southern Maryland. 6

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 17

(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated. 21
(b) “Board of Trustees” means the Board of Trustees of the College of Southern 22

(c) “College” means the College of Southern Maryland, formerly known as the 1
Charles County Community College. 2
(h) “Southern Maryland” means the area that includes all of Calvert, Charles, and 3
St. Mary’s counties. 4

(1) THE PLANNING , DESIGN, REPAIR, RENOVATION , 8
RECONSTRUCTION , AND SITE IMPROVEMENT OF THE COLLEGE’S LA PLATA CAMPUS 9
POOL; AND 10
(2) THE REOPENING OF THE COLLEGE’S LA PLATA CAMPUS POOL BY 11
DECEMBER 31, 2024. 12
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 13
1, 2024. 14
