BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 13 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 14 Article – Education 15 15–106.8. 16 (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of this article, an individual shall be 17 exempt from paying the out–of–state tuition rate at a public institution of higher education 18 in the State, and shall be eligible for the tuition rates described under subsections (c) and 19 (d) of this section, if the individual: 20 (4) Provides to the public institution of higher education documentation 21 that the individual or the individual’s parent or legal guardian has filed a Maryland income 22 tax return [annually] for the [3–year period] TAXABLE YEAR IMMEDIA TELY before the 23 academic year in which the tuition rate exemption would apply; 24 2 SENATE BILL 637 SECTION 2.
