BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 15 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 16 Article – Natural Resources 17 5–1014. 18 (A) THE BEGINNING IN FISCAL Y EAR 2027, THE DEPARTMENT SHALL : 19 2 HOUSE BILL 1277 (1) ASSESS AND COLLECT AN 8% HOTEL RENTAL SURCHAR GE ON 1 RENTAL UNITS ON THE PROPERTY OF THE SAVAGE RIVER LODGE; AND 2 (2) REMIT THE PROCEEDS FR OM THE SURCHARGE TO THE 3 COMPTROLLER FOR DISTR IBUTION TO GARRETT COUNTY. 4 (B) (1) FROM THE PART OF THE SURCHARGE COLLECTED UNDER 5 SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION THAT IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO A RATE OF 6%, 6 GARRETT COUNTY SHALL DESIGNAT E A PORTION FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE 7 COUNTY. 8 (2) THE PART OF THE SURCH ARGE COLLECTED UNDER SUBSECTION 9 (A) OF THIS SECTION THAT IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO T HE RATE GREATER THAN 6% 10 SHALL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE COUNTY . 11 SECTION 2.
