2525 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 6

2828 (a) There is a Workgroup to Study School Bus Safety. 8

3030 (b) The Governor shall appoint members of the Workgroup. 9

3232 (c) The Governor shall designate the chair of the Workgroup. 10

3434 (d) The Maryland Department of Transportation, in consultation with the State 11
3535 Department of Education, shall provide staff for the Workgroup. 12

3939 (1) may not receive compensation as a member of the Workgroup; but 14

4141 (2) is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State 15
4242 Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget. 16

5555 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 4
5656 1, 2025. It shall remain effective for a period of 2 years and, at the end of June 30, 2027, 5
5757 this Act, with no further action required by the General Assembly, shall be abrogated and 6
