29-FOR the purpose of requiring that certain construction projects or major renovation 5

69- (a) The Interagency Commission shall adopt regulations that require the design 13
70-development documents for the construction or major renovation of school buildings 14
71-submitted by a county board to the Interagency Commission to include: 15
72-
73- (1) An evaluation of the use of solar technologies, including photovoltaic or 16
74-solar water heating AND PARKING LOT SOLA R CANOPIES, based on life cycle costs; and 17
75-
76- (2) If an evaluation determines that solar technologies are not appropriate 18
77-for a construction or major renovation project, a report that explains why the use of the 19
78-technology is not appropriate. 20

80- (b) On or before December 31 of each year, the Interagency Commission shall 21
81-submit a report on the number of public school construction and major renovation projects 22
82-in each jurisdiction that use solar technologies to the Governor and, in accordance with § 23
83-2–1257 of the State Government Article, the General Assembly. 24

85- SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 25
