BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 13 That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 14 Article – Education 15 15–106.8. 16 (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of this article, an individual shall be 17 exempt from paying the out–of–state tuition rate at a public institution of higher education 18 in the State, and shall be eligible for the tuition rates described under subsections (c) and 19 (d) of this section, if the individual: 20 (4) Provides to the public institution of higher education documentation 21 that the individual or the individual’s parent or legal guardian has filed a Maryland income 22 2 SENATE BILL 268 tax return annually for the [3–year] 2–YEAR period before the academic year in which the 1 tuition rate exemption would apply; 2 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 3 1, 2025. 4
