91 | 91 | | (ii) an examination of the health impacts of food deserts on the local 24 |

92 | 92 | | population, including any related environmental concerns, and the impacts of food deserts 25 |

93 | 93 | | on the economy; 26 |

95 | 95 | | (iii) an assessment of strategies to attract grocery stores and 27 |
---|
96 | 96 | | supermarket retailers to identified food deserts and any associated costs, including a review 28 SENATE BILL 353 3 |

99 | 99 | | of existing incentives and available financing programs in this State and in other states; 1 |

110 | 110 | | (ii) recommendations regarding solutions to eliminate food deserts 8 |

111 | 111 | | in the State. 9 |

113 | 113 | | (g) On or before November 1, 2025, the Workgroup shall submit the report of its 10 |
---|
114 | 114 | | findings and recommendations to the Governor and, in accordance with § 2–1257 of the 11 |
---|
115 | 115 | | State Government Article, the General Assembly, the Senate Committee on Education, 12 |
---|
116 | 116 | | Energy, and the Environment, the Senate Finance Committee, the House Economic 13 |
---|
117 | 117 | | Matters Committee, and the House Environment and Transportation Committee. 14 |

119 | 119 | | SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shal l take effect July 15 |
---|
120 | 120 | | 1, 2025. It shall remain effective for a period of 1 year and, at the end of June 30, 2026, this 16 |

121 | 121 | | Act, with no further action required by the General Assembly, shall be abrogated and of no 17 |
---|
