A member of the Penobscot Nation who is a resident of the State who has lawfully 4 killed or trapped and registered a wild animal or wild turkey under this section or 5 lawfully killed or trapped a wild bird within the Penobscot Indian territory, as defined 6 in Title 30, section 6205, subsection 2, may use, sell or offer for sale or aid in buying, 7 selling or offering for sale wild animals and wild birds at an eating establishment as 8 defined in Title 22, section 2491, subsection 7; lodging place as defined in Title 22, 9 section 2491, subsection 7-F; mobile eating place as defined in Title 22, section 2491, 10 subsection 8; or recreational camp or sporting camp as defined in Title 22, section 11 2491, subsection 11 located within the Penobscot Indian territory. A person who 12 qualifies for an exception under this paragraph shall comply with all applicable state 13 and federal food safety laws, rules and regulations. 14 15 K. A person may purchase food or food products derived from wild animals and wild 16 birds offered for sale under paragraph J. 17 18 This bill provides an exception to the prohibitions against the purchase, sale or offer 19 for sale of certain wild animals and wild birds. A member of the Penobscot Nation who is 20 a resident of the State and who has lawfully killed or trapped and registered a bear, deer, 21 moose or wild turkey or lawfully killed or trapped a wild bird within the Penobscot Indian 22 territory may use, sell or offer for sale or aid in buying, selling or offering for sale bear, 23 deer, moose, wild turkey and wild birds at an eating establishment, lodging place, mobile 24 eating place or recreational camp or sporting camp that is located within the Penobscot 25 Indian territory. 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25
