3 amended by amending subparagraph (2) to read:
4 (2)  The historic property that is the subject of the grant application must be listed 
5 on the National Register of Historic Places as authorized by the National Historic 
6 Preservation Act of 1966 or , have been nominated to the register by the 
7 commission or have been designated as a historic property by a municipal historic 
8 preservation ordinance.
9 No later than 
10 November 30, 2025, the Maine Historic Preservation Commission shall adopt rules 
11 pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 27, section 504, subsection 2-A regarding the 
12 disbursement of bond proceeds authorized by Public Law 2023, chapter 653 to establish a 
13 process for properties in the State that are not on the National Register of Historic Places 
14 but have been designated as historic properties by municipal historic preservation 
15 ordinances to receive funding through the bond proceeds.

17 This bill amends the eligibility requirements for grants through the Maine Historic 
18 Preservation Commission for the preservation and restoration of historic properties to allow 
19 eligibility for properties that have been designated as historic properties by municipal 
20 historic preservation ordinances. The bill also directs the Maine Historic Preservation 
21 Commission to adopt rules regarding the disbursement of bond proceeds authorized by 
22 Public Law 2023, chapter 653 to establish a process for properties in the State that are not 
23 on the National Register of Historic Places but have been designated as historic properties 
24 by municipal historic preservation ordinances to receive funding through the bond 
25 proceeds.
