Page 1 - 132LR0947(01) 1 2 is enacted to read: 3 4 The identity of a person awarded a prize of $500,000 or more is confidential unless the 5 person awarded the prize provides written authorization to the bureau allowing the 6 disclosure of that person's identity. The bureau may disclose the identity of the person to 7 another state agency solely for purposes authorized under this chapter, and that state agency 8 is prohibited from further disclosing the person's identity. 9 Information designated as confidential under this section is not a public record as 10 defined in Title 1, section 402, subsection 3. 11 12 This bill provides that the identity of a person awarded a lottery prize of $500,000 or 13 more is confidential unless the person awarded the prize provides written authorization to 14 the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages 15 and Lottery Operations allowing the disclosure of that person's identity. The bill authorizes 16 the bureau to disclose the identity of the person to another state agency for purposes 17 authorized under the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 8, chapter 14-A and the bill prohibits 18 that state agency from further disclosing the person's identity. 12 13 14 15 16 17 18
