Page 1 - 132LR0426(01)1 acts and resolves of the Legislature do not 2 become effective until 90 days after adjournment unless enacted as emergencies; and 3 tianeptine is a highly addictive drug; and 4 the use of tianeptine increases the risk of overdose deaths; and 5 6 deaths; and 7 in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create an emergency within 8 the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and require the following legislation as 9 immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, 10 therefore, 11 12 as amended by PL 2013, c. 194, §7, is 13 further amended by amending subparagraph (14) to read: 14 (14) Paramethoxyethylamphetamine, PMEA; and 15 as enacted by PL 2013, c. 194, §8, is 16 amended by amending subparagraph (15) in the first blocked paragraph to read: 17 This subparagraph does not include a drug listed in section 1102 or a drug approved 18 by the United States Food and Drug Administration.; and 19 is enacted to read: 20 Q. Tianeptine. 21 22 takes effect when approved. 23 24 This bill adds tianeptine as a Schedule W drug. 24
